ParticipantHi Jeff
Her is another method to reinflate the HD3P:s I use my vaccum cleaner to reinflate them. The principle is to apply a vacuum on the front side so that atmospheric pressure fills the cavity of the tweeter when the screw is withdrawn from the rear. If you make simple box of wood, not a paper shoebox, with one opening for the tweeter front on top of it, make it as big as the oval shape of the tweeter, and then one connection hole on the side of the box for the vacuum nozzle.
To reinflate the HD3P you simply place the tweeter over that opening of the box, diaphragm down, rear screw removed, then gradually turn up the vacuum cleaner until the maximum speed, meanwhile you seal it with a some re-usable tack seal. Done! that only take afew seconds. It is a good idea to put some velvet on top of the woodbox so there will be some slight leakage during the suction process.Best regards,

ParticipantHi,
to my knoledge the HD3P was never filled with plain nitrogen and I was expressed
to the opinion that the ever changeing outside atmosfaric pressure was something one had to live with?? Well, oxygène is also a gas so I accepted that./Oafem

ParticipantHello Stedev and hi-fi-ve!
It gladens me that you still own the EC « the two channel amps » because these amps also drove my Auras in those days! Seems we had/have the same idea of what good HiFi should sound like.
Nowdays I own the Abrahamsen V2.0 integrated amp made by the same Abrahamsen who founded the Electrocompaniet in the senenties! This amp you should try because it is basicly the same amp as « the two channel amps » and sonically it have the same fantastic flow as the original. The later EC:s did not and that mnr. Abrahamsen have noticed and more or less confessed they did´nt. But with this amp he´s got on the right track again. They are not dreadfully expensive either, try hifishark.com. and you´ll soon find one. I think it even sounds better than the lavardin IS wich is also a teriffic amp but a tad cold in sound but not so with the Abrahamsen.
Good listening!
